Lecture: Protective Signs in the Tradition of Rearing Children: Signs in Interior Decoration, on Toys, Cloathing, Garments, Dishes and Egg-paintings

Thursday, 29th of October 15.00

The most important factor in rearing children is the environment, both spiritual environment and material environment, and their harmony. From a pedagogical point of view, it is most important, how we develop our environment, what are the values and ideas that drive the lives of people around us, which are their internal and external states of mind and what kind of things are to be found in the space around us. Throughout history, these questions have been given a lot of attention, because the lives of parents and children are intertwined and interdependent. Most of environment was formed so that it would function as a practical tool of child-rearing. Signs and shapes that were placed around everyday life carried not only the function of reflecting virtue, but also that of restraining evil and spiritual darkness. Signs tuned human senses and reason simultaneously towards right predispositions and barred the intrusion and spread of demonic illusions.
